Pets and Gardens don't often mix well.

There are certain projects that fall right between landscape maintenance and full on landscape construction tasks. Projects like these to fall into a category that we like to refer to as landscape renovation. Landscape renovation projects focus on an existing landscape space that perhaps has become overgrown, it's hardscape surfaces have become dilapidated, or it's planting layout has simply 'seen better days'.

landscape changes on a yearly basis. Trees grow and through succession can transition a sun garden into a shady space. Inversely, the loss of an anchoring tree in the landscape can transition a shade space into a sun-filled microclimate. Changes like these create the need for a re-working of site plant material and arrangement to accommodate these conversions.

The Chicagoland area experiences approximately 56 freeze-thaw cycles every winter. This can wreak havoc on flatwork, causing it to pit and heave, or cause select areas of pavers and natural stone to chip or lose it's structural integrity.

A quick solution to give them space.

All of these issues and more can be easily addressed by assessing and coming up with solutions on how to breathe new life into any select outdoor space. We would be happy to arrange a consultation to discuss updating your existing landscape with a few tweaks and fixes. We like to re-purpose elements of an existing garden space as much as possible. Even by transplanting existing plant material and supplementing with a few new garden additions, you'd be amazed to witness that old space revistalized! Landscape renovation projects can also include services such as power-washing, hardscape leveling, hardscape joint-sanding, masonry tuckpointing, or gravel/mulch refreshing.

The space was given new life, by clearing all invasive weed growth, pruning canopy trees, and re-working existing materials such as pots, steppers, and natural stone. We then stepped in with a simple perennial planting and established a woodland chip path to invite visitor's to enjoy the garden's.

We let the home's architecture do most of the talking by clearing all parkway overgrowth, thinning their front tree's canopy, introducing a simple lawn panel to the front parkway, and installing seasonal interest in their existing rail planters.
